My name is Ricki Thiara, I was appointed the role of Parent Governor in February 2017.   I have 3 children, all of whom now attend High Ercall Primary.  Prior to becoming a full time parent I worked for Telford and Wrekin Council dealing with Children and their Families, which included working with a range of agencies who are able to promote children's development and well being.  I am already very proud to be part of this school and look forward to helping with its continued development, ensuring children receive the best possible education and gain the skills needed for lifelong learning and being part of the real world.

My family and I came to the area when I became Farm Manager at Tern Farm, Longdon on Tern in 1995. My two children, then 5 and 9, benefited from their years at High Ercall and I wanted to give something back. As a result I have been a Governor for over 15 years. It is a privilege and a pleasure to be associated with such dedicated staff and enthusiastic pupils.

"I am the Deputy Headteacher, and I teach Class 4."

I am the Deputy Headteacher, and I teach Class 4.I have been teaching at the school for over ten years, and during this time, I have seen the school flourish in the areas of curriculum offer, academic achievement and infrastructure. Before joining the school, I had taught in two larger primary schools in central Telford and had been an engineer before joining the teaching profession. I had never stayed longer than six years in any previous post and it is testament to the ethos and environment of the school that I embark upon my eleventh year.

I am married and have two teenage daughters who keep me busy: ‘Dad’s Taxi’ to and from drama and singing lessons. I enjoy cycling and motorcycling (passing my test in 2015) and have supported local and national ‘ride outs’ to raise funds for a variety of charities.

"I am a Senior Electrical Engineer with a Business Diploma in Operational Management, I have worked within the Dairy industry for nearly 32 years, 26 within the community at Dairy Crest Crudgington prior to joining Muller UK at Telford.

I believe High Ercall School to be an asset to the community with successful learning and development policies within a safe and supporting environment, these have been confirmed with my daughter Sara’s enthusiasm for school. My view is that a proactive approach to our children’s education and development is key, therefore I find it a privilege to support the school as a parent governor by offering my professional skills, knowledge and experience as required."

I started my role as Headteacher in September 2013. Previously I have worked as Deputy Headteacher at Hollinswood Primary, in Telford and several years in schools in Shrewsbury. I have taught all year groups across the primary age range through my teaching career, and love to see the children excited and motivated by the learning.

I am married, with two primary aged children, who attend a local primary school. I grew up locally, near Market Drayton and love the rural lifestyle! Occasionally you might see me running the lanes locally or around my own home, or even playing tennis!

I was appointed class teacher of Class 5 in May 2019. I have previously taught in post 16 education on Anglesey, Wales; in middle school in Northumberland and Head of KS3 Maths in a secondary school in Reading. I have a passion for teaching and understand the importance of motivating and inspiring young children to learn but place an emphasis on enjoyment whilst in the classroom.

I am married and we have 2 daughters who attend High Ercall. We love living in Shropshire and have definitely decided to make the area our home.

Hi, I’m Steve Armstrong and I’ve been a governor for several years. I started off as a Parent Governor when both my sons, now teenagers, attended High Ercall .

They really enjoyed their time here, making a lot of good friends and enjoyed representing the school whenever and wherever they could.

The school gave them the foundation to try lots of different things, a number of which they have developed a real passion for.

I really enjoy the challenges and rewards of being a governor and feel privileged to be able to make a contribution to school life.

I was a Head of Department in Post 16 Education for 12 years and recently left the teaching profession to work as a Development Manager for a children’s charity that uses the power of physical education, sport and physical activity to enhance the lives of children and young people.  I work across the West Midlands with school staff, headteachers and governors to improve their understanding of how physical activity can improve the lives of young people in schools.

I have two children in key stage 2 who have recently joined High Ercall Primary and I am looking forward to using my knowledge, skills and experience to contribute to the development of the school.

My twins started at High Ercall in September 2019. I joined the board of governors in February 2020.

Previous to taking a career break, I was an IT Project Manager in the private sector.
